Vini-Yoga

Viniyoga is a style of yoga which adapts to the various needs of individual students, with gentle repetition into postures. It is designed to restore functional movement patters to remove stress and tension, and promote healing of injuries and misalignments. Yoga practice is intended to bring a transformation of the mind, so that the practitioner may achieve a higher level of self development. This class also incorporates therapeutic qigong movements to facilitate energy flow. Please bring a yoga mat and blanket or towel.

Tai Chi Chuan (Yang style, 24 Steps)

An ancient Chinese exercise for maintaining health, spiritual growth and disease prevention. It has been proven effective in healing the body and mind for many centuries. The slow, beautiful movements and controlled breathing harmonize energy flow in the body. The martial application can also be used for self-defense in urgent situations.

◘◘ Recommended level: Beginner


Tai Chi Chuan (Combined Style with 42 Steps)

This combined style of Tai Chi including Yang, Chen, Sun and Wu style is unique in its non-repetitive movements. It requires higher discipline and patience. It is the most popular form of Tai Chi Chuan in China.

◘◘ Recommended level: All


Tai Chi Chuan (Chen Style)

The oldest Tai Chi form, "Tai Chi’s ancestor." It is the most challenging and martial of all the Tai Chi styles. Adapted from the form of Grand Master Feng Zhi Qiang, Dr. Kuhn’s mentor. You will need patience and it helps if you understand the concept of the “long journey”. Although subtle, it is more powerful, and produces more energy in the body.  It is excellent for building physical stamina and internal and external energy.

◘◘ Recommended level:  Previous Tai Chi experience is a plus but not required.


Tai Chi Chuan (16 Steps)

This masterpiece of healing Tai Chi was created by Dr. Aihan Kuhn, a Chinese doctor with over 20 years experience of Chinese healing arts. This unique form is also called “Tai Chi for Depression”, and combines Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and Martial arts. It empowers your mind, and harmonizes and balances both sides of the brain. It gives you a feeling of harmony, peace and power. It is has been called “a natural tranquilizer”.

It has 16 steps, and is easy to learn and practice. Space requirements are minimal. It gives immediate results, and is said to be better than any other Tai Chi form. It is especially helpful in preventing depression and can also help to minimize the symptoms of depression.

◘◘ Recommended level: It is good for all levels.


Tai Chi Sword

Practicing with the Tai Chi sword increases the grace and power of your movements as well as your coordination, self-confidence and physical stamina. Its elegance is as evident as its majesty. Many consider Tai Chi sword to be one of the most beautiful Tai Chi exercises.

◘◘ Recommended level: Tai Chi experience is a plus but not required.


Tai Chi Broadsword

This is a weapon form of Tai Chi just like “Tai Chi Sword” and “Tai Chi Staff”. Beside offering the same benefits as Tai Chi, practice with Chinese Broadsword gives you a feeling of strength, will power, security, and devotion.

◘◘ Recommended level: Martial art experience is a plus but not required. Not for ages less than 16, or over 65


Tai Chi Push Hands

Understand and control your own energy, maintain balance and redirect energy while practicing with a partner.  Working with a partner will build your skill to know another person’s energy.  Enjoy yourself and have fun with different people in this interactive art. Your reflexes and senses will be sharpened; your energy will be more focused. Tai Chi Push Hands is often considered a necessity for truly understanding Tai Chi.  Once you start to practice, you won’t want to quit. 

◘◘ Recommended level: For all levels, but not for age over 75.


Therapeutic Qi Gong

Therapeutic Qi Gong is a type of medical Qi Gong.  Also sometimes called “Chinese Yoga”.

Through gentle whole body stretching and Qi breathing you will feel the energy flow smoothly in your body. This energy initiates the healing process. Qi Gong is a self-therapy often prescribed as a remedy by Chinese Doctors. It is proven to relieve many ailments: back pain, neck and shoulder problems, cardiac ailments and circulation problems, low energy, low immune function, GI problems, muscle stiffness, arthritic complaints and many others. It also improves posture! It can be practiced even if you are ill or recovering from surgery.

◘◘ Recommended level:  It is an excellent preventative and recuperative exercise for all ages.


Circle Energy Qi Gong

The characteristics of Circle Energy Qi Gong are that the movements go in a circular motion throughout the entire Qi Gong workout. This gives you not only a good physical workout but also a feeling of well controlled energy, relaxation and being energized at the same time. Circle Energy Qi Gong is easy to learn and easy to practice. This Qi Gong was adopted from Grand Master Feng Zhi Qiang’s Hun Yuan Qi Gong.

◘◘ Recommended level: No experience is necessary to take this class.


Meridian Qi Gong

Meridian Qi Gong is an excellent form of Qi Gong that focuses on internal healing. By combining breathing through body meridians, channels and physical exercise, you will experience deep relaxation and learn to control the flow of energy in your body. Meridian Qi Gong helps to relieve ailments including: high stress, headache, heart disease, high blood pressure, anxiety, panic disorder, insomnia, depression, cancer and others. It is an excellent Qi Gong for balancing body chemicals. It is sometimes called “Meditation in Motion”.

◘◘ Recommended level: For all levels and ages.


Plum Blossom Tai Chi Fan (single fan)

Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Martial Arts and Dancing are combined to produce this beautiful exercise. Performed with a Chinese Fan, the form improves posture, energy, flexibility, concentration, discipline, and stamina. Tai Chi Fan is also used to prevent arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome as well as building whole body coordination.

◘◘  Recommended level: Previous Tai Chi knowledge is a plus but not a requirement, as long as you have patience and discipline.


Tai Chi Double Fan

Practice Tai Chi with two beautiful red fans. This is a special form of Tai Chi which combines Qi Gong, Tai Chi, Martial Arts and Dancing. The form improves posture, energy, flexibility, concentration, discipline, and stamina. Tai Chi Fan is also used to prevent arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome as well as building whole body coordination. A key element of this form is the wrist movement, so that can tremendously benefit computer users.

◘◘  Recommended level: Previous Tai Chi knowledge is a plus but not a requirement, as long as you have patience and discipline.


Xing Yi Chuan

Also called Xing Yi, this is another internal martial art as powerful as Tai Chi and Ba Gua.  The practice is in linear motion, cultivating one’s internal power.  Xing Yi is intended to create internal energy, then express this energy externally.  Its dynamic physical movement activates strong internal power which enhances one’s fighting ability.  But you don’t need to fight to study Xing Yi.

  ◘◘ Recommended level: For both beginner and advanced (all levels).

Ba Gua Zhang

Another internal martial art that has similar health benefits to Tai Chi and Xin Yi. Dong Hai Chuan, the founder, was from the Qing Dynasty and created this martial art workout for maintaining good health, longevity, and for self defense. This practice strengthens the body and mind, improves daily energy level, coordination, and flexibility. It makes you feel grounded, rooted, and determined.

◘◘ Recommended level: Students will do better if they have experience in Tai Chi, Xin Yi, and any kind martial art. But beginners are welcome if you don’t mind working hard and being patient.


Chinese Waist Drum

Chinese Waist Drum is a traditional Chinese physical art, for enjoyment, pleasure, exercise, coordination, harmony, and energy. It always works well in groups to enhance the group energy and harmony. It gives you the opportunity to be able to perform at public events.

◘◘ Recommended level: It is good for both adults and children. It is for woman only.


Ribbon Dance

A very enjoyable dance exercise with two red silk scarves, it gives you a moderate physical workout to promote circulation. It builds coordination and improves the posture as practice proceeds. It is easy to learn and easy to practice.

◘◘ Recommended level: It is for girls only.


Martial Art Combination

It is a choreographed combination of Tai Chi, beginner level Shaolin Long Fist, basic Ba Gua walking, and basic Push Hands. It is an excellent cardiac warm up workout before other exercise practice. It is very enjoyable to watch too. It is also a beautiful performance.

The Feldenkrais Method®

The Feldenkrais Method® is a body/mind approach to improving the ways in which we move. The student begins to identify and alter habitual movement patterns gaining freedom of movement. Classes are appropriate for all ages and conditions. Please wear loose clothing and bring a mat. The benefits are: Lasting relief from pain; stress reduction; improved posture; enhanced flexibility; balance and Breathing.

◘◘ Recommended level:  All ages and levels.


Ballroom Dancing

Learn ballroom dance basics for weddings and social dance parties.  From the graceful Waltz to the dramatic Tango and the saucy Cha-cha to the romantic Rumba, learn the moves to groove to any beat.  No partner necessary and no previous dance experience necessary.  We will take it step by step and rotate partners often so that everyone has a chance to dance and learn.

Hip-Hop Dance Class

Learn the hottest moves to some of your favorite tunes.  This class will teach the high energy movements of hip-hop dancing.  No previous dance experience necessary.  Come learn some fun moves to grove along to the latest hit songs.
